KURRI MANDOLIN ORCHESTRA (1925)
A feast of music is in store for the people of Cessnock next Tuesday, when the Kurri Mandolin Orchestra, under the baton of Mr. J. Gopinko, appears at the Lyceum Hall. The concert will be headed by Mr. Alfred O'Shea, a tenor of no mean calibre, who was the principal of the Dame Melba Opera last year. He is described as Australia's greatest tenor. Harry Klass, the violin prodigy, Miss Hilda Doyle, the soprano who has made a name for herself in Sydney, and Bobbie Watson, the world-travel led comedian, will also appear. No expense seems to have been spared in organising the concert. The artists are some of the most expensive yet brought here, and the concert promises to be highly successful.
