Shipwrecks

Severe storms have caused the destruction of ships and cargo, as well as the loss of life in the Stockton and Newcastle harbour area. Shipwrecks were relatively frequent, from the first recorded Norfolk wreck at Pirate’s Point (now Stockton) in 1801. The most recent event was the running aground by the Pasha Bulker in 2007.
